Our Story

Emma Horan, founder of Stel, is a second generation goldsmith based in County Cork.

Backstory

Being exposed to the jewellery world from a young age, Emma found her passion in her father’s workshop, where she began a very informal apprenticeship with her dad.

Emma’s rigorous training combined with her dedication to distinctive designs shines through on her pieces that are made to bring elegance into the every day.

Her father, Michael, is an impeccable goldsmith and stone setter, bringing over 30 years of craftsmanship to his beautiful bespoke wedding and engagement rings.

Behind the name

The name ‘Stel’ has been chosen as an ode to someone who found a way to make absolutely everything glamourous. This person has left such a strong essence of finding the beauty in things, and they have paved a way of choosing kindness over ignorance. By having ‘Stel’ at the core of what we do, we’re reminded of what we’re set out to do and how we want to show beauty to the world.
